Acupuncture, An Alternative Treatment To Lower Your Blood Pressure

Acupuncture is an ancient procedure that proved itself effective in dealing with various conditions. The specialists from the Irvine University of California performed a study whose results have shown that hypertension is one of those conditions.

Until now, the newly discovered method of fighting hypertension using electro acupuncture, was only tested on rats, whose blood pressure has previously been increased by artificial methods. These rats were then stimulated by low electric punctures, which caused their pressure to decrease by 40%.

This new medical application of an antique treatment method represents a revolutionary weapon in the battle against hypertension and, in time, it may even be a substitute for the traditional means to lower blood pressure.

How does it work?

The insertion of needles was performed in:

1) The pericardium, 5-6 needles, rotated at intervals between 10 and 30 min., while the doctors were artificially increasing the rats' blood pressure.

2) The forelimbs of the rats, without being electrically stimulated or rotated, for half an hour.

The pericardium's electrical stimulation was, meanwhile, performed with ranging of frequencies between 2 and 10 hertz.

The monitoring and recording of the results of these experiments proved the tests based on electric and traditional acupuncture to be the most official. These methods lowered the blood pressure, their effects lasted for bout n hour, and the ranging was between 33 and 36%. The most efficient treatment was obtained at 2 hertz frequently, by electro acupuncture.

A lowering of the blood pressure of 44% after heart stimulation and of 36% for that of the stomach (36-37) and at the heart (6-7) was observed. This is, obviously, the most successful recorded result.

An extraordinary vintage of this method is that it only has effect on people with high blood pressure, being total harmless on people that are healthy.

Due to the excellent results of the trials, and to the traditionally and efficiency of this method, it is desirable for this method to be used as soon as possible on every patient that needs to have his/her blood pressure lowered.
