Lowering blood pressure foods

Since medical science came to being there has been efforts on studying the blood pressure, there are times even from ancient Ayurvedic times there have been emphasis on controlling the blood pressure. There is lots of healing and ancient medicines that are available that helps in lowering down any individual’s blood pressure. Now a days there have been a lot of emphasis on the changing lifestyles of the individual, these lifestyle changes have a dramatic effect on the blood pressure, thus the doctors are now checking the patient’s day to day lifestyle to give him the best advice. The blood pressure can even affect any person and cause various cardiovascular diseases.

Blood pressure is a lot affected by the food intake in your body, whatever you eat directly or indirectly it has an affect on the person’s blood pressure. Tulane University researchers have claimed that they studied more than 1500 people and found that their food habits had a lot affect on their blood pressure. There were people who ate just 19 grams of fibers everyday kept their blood pressure low while others had a higher blood pressure. The study also claimed that there were other 25 clinical reports that were made and collective report was made this proved that people having a healthy fibrous foods were having a controlled blood pressure.

After all this studies there were a few guidelines that were made by the Tulane university, the recommendation were about 20-35 grams of fiber each day reduces the blood pressure and keeps it to a safer limit everyday.

To keep your blood pressure problems at bay you just have to keep a tab on the amount of fiber that you consume everyday. There are variety of foods which are rich in fibrous materials so taking these foods daily can help you reduce your blood pressure to normal. These foods are:

a)Whole grain cereals and breads: There are around 12 grams of fiber in six servings of cereals everyday; these cereals include oats, whole wheat muffin, corn tortillas and even toast of wheat.

b)Two to three servings of fruits also help in maintaining the blood pressure in body, these fruits are bananas, apples, oranges these are mainly the fibrous fruits.

c)Vegetables servings around six grams of fibrous vegetables everyday could be used to lower down the blood pressure.

d)Seeds like the sun flower seeds, only a handful everyday could be a nice tool to keep that high blood pressure away from your body.

Naturally low fat foods:

There are a few foods that are naturally named as the low fat foods, these foods should be taken in appropriate quantity to control the body fat and reduce the blood pressure. There are foods such as:

1)Pretzels: the fat content is around 10% in its one ounce than the fat content in one ounce potato chips.

2)Buttermilk: a cup of fat milk contains more fat than a cup of buttermilk so it’s better to have it.

3)Pancakes: they have the same number of calories as a bread slice so just top it with a low fat jam and see the results.

4)Potato: a low medium sized potato be it a sweet one or a white potato both have one tenth fat and 30 calories.
