High blood pressure in pregnancy

Every pregnant woman should take care of the risks that are associated with the pregnancy; one such risk is contracting high blood increase in the body. The chances of high blood pressure are quite there when a women is pregnant, so there are at times certain life threatening conditions too that might affect the person. These complications need to be avoided to lower the risk to both mother and the baby.

Sometimes there is affect on the baby of this increased blood pressure level in the body, there are chances that there would be no blood flow till the placenta so there be lack of blood and nutrient in the placenta thus affecting baby’s growth.

During the pregnancy stage there occur three different types of high blood pressure disorders these are:

a)essential hypertension

b)preclampsia

c)gestational hypertension

Women who suffer from high blood pressure during the pregnancy stages are mainly suffering from the hypertension related disorders. These disorders come to light only when there is pregnancy in these women.

Gestational Hypertension is a stage which occurs in nearly 5-8% of the women but mainly it occurs during the pregnancy but they are reduced or even they disappear after the birth of the baby. So this pressure is one of those complications that occur during pregnancy.

Preclampsia is the stage which is termed as the most dangerous type of high blood pressure during pregnancy. Sometimes the gastro intestinal blood pressure may also change to Preclampsia. The main symptoms of this phase are the loss of proteins from the person’s body in urine. This can also be a sign of a regular kidney problem. Complete and regular doctoral advice is mandatory for Preclampsia suffering women during the pregnancy stage. There are a few women that are at more risk of developing the high blood pressure these are:

1)Women who have been suffering from hypertension from a very long time, or even in cases where high blood pressure earlier too was observed.

2)In case of first pregnancy in 10 years then too these high blood pressure periods do exists.

3)If the woman is younger than 20 years or is older than 35 years then there are chances that she might develop high blood pressure.

4)If the woman is extremely overweight then these chances of high blood pressure increases.

5)Women who carry multiple babies like twins or triplets can expect to have high blood pressure.

6)If there were any pre existing disease in the women then there are chances that she might develop high blood pressure during pregnancy.
